    My three areas of specialized interest are in 1) perioperative care of patients undergoing liver transplantation, 2) regional anesthesia and management of acute pain, and 3) trauma anesthesia.
    I currently have several research projects underway on the following topics:
    1) combined organ transplants (Heart-Liver; Liver-Kidney; and Heart-Liver-Kidney)
    2) identifying risk factors for and mechnanisms underpinning the development of prolonged postoperative pain (PPOP).
