    Collapse overview
Dr. Churpek is a Pulmonary and Critical Care physician with a PhD in Epidemiology whose research interests include developing clinical prediction models for patients who experience clinical deterioration in the hospital. His research aims to decrease preventable hospital death by identifying patients on the hospital wards who are at high risk of cardiac arrest or intensive care unit transfer early enough to improve their outcomes. Dr. Churpek is interested in the use of techniques such as survival analysis, machine learning, and simulation studies to improve the care of hospitalized patients, and he is supported by a K08 grant (K08HL121080) and R01 grant (R01GM123193).
