Ann Nguyen, MD, is a cardiologist who specializes in advanced heart failure. Dr. Nguyen provides comprehensive care for patients with heart transplants, left ventricular assist devices and those in need of acute mechanical circulatory support.
Along with her clinical practice, Dr. Nguyen investigates the role of the gut microbiome in the outcomes of heart transplant patients. Her goal is to determine if the gut microbiome can serve as a biomarker for adverse outcomes and examine if the gut microbiome can be manipulated to improve graft tolerance after heart transplantation.
