overview Dr. Christina E. Ciaccio MD MSc is an Associate Professor of Pediatrics and Medicine is the Chief of Allergy/Immunology and Pediatric Pulmonology and Sleep Medicine. She was raised in rural Kankakee county which sparked her research interest in understanding how nutrition (prebiotics) and microbial exposures (probiotics) affect IgE sensitization. She currently directs the Food Allergy Program at the University of Chicago and runs a clinical translational research program in food allergy and IgE sensitization. Dr. Ciaccio is the Secretary of the Food Allergy and Eosinophilic Gastrointestinal Disease Interest Section of the American Academy of Allergy, Asthma, and Immunology and a member of the Editorial Board of the Annals of Allergy, Asthma, and Immunology.
