overview I am a licensed clinical psychologist and developmental psychologist, with specialty training in pediatric neuropsychology. I am a faculty member in both the Psychiatry and Behavioral Neuroscience, and Pediatrics Departments. I serve as the Director of Neuropsychology, managing a regionally and nationally respected clinical and research program that works with adults, children, and adolescents with a range of neurodevelopmental and medical disorders. I bring to the University of Chicago Medicine and Biological Sciences my significant experience as a clinician and researcher focusing on neurocognitive and behavioral development in both typically maturing and neurodevelopmentally disabled populations, with expertise in the cognitive and behavioral sequelae of socioeconomic disadvantage, prematurity and low birth weight, sleep disorders, autism spectrum disorders, epilepsies, neurofibromatosis, and HIV-infection. I am currently involved in the development and implementation of empirically supported assessment and treatment approaches to attention, memory, and executive dysfunction in underserved youth and adolescents, specifically those at risk for academic failure, substance abuse, and poor sexual decision making; and youth with neurodevelopmental and medical disorders, including NF-1, epilepsy, ASD, ADHD, cancers, HIV, and OSA and snoring. I am also a consultant on psychosocial and educational intervention programming for minority youth with developmental disabilities. I have published and presented widely on these topics, and have served as a co-PI on a number of federally funded studies examining these issues.
