Girish Venkataraman, MD, is Professor of Pathology and co-director of Clinical Immunohistochemistry Laboratory at University of Chicago Medicine and Biological Sciences, Chicago, IL. Dr. Venkataraman received his medical degree from Kilpauk Medical College, Chennai, India, and is board-certified in anatomic and clinical pathology as well as in clinical hematopathology fellowship at the National Cancer Institute. He currently also serves as the fellowship program director for Hematopathology in the department. He is a diagnostic hematopathologist with over 100 peer-reviewed publications in hematopathology related to TP53 mutated myeloid neoplasia as well as lymphomas and has mentored over 100 students at various levels over the years. He is the founder of two major consortiums including the Consortium of Richter Transformation Investigators (CORTI) and the international TP53 investigators Network (iTIN) both of which have resulted in several ASH/USCAP oral presentations and publications looking at outcomes in these diseases.
