Dr. Sravanti Barla, MBBS/MD, specializes in hospital medicine with a focus on the management of high-acuity and diagnostically complex inpatients. Her clinical interests include cardiometabolic disease, perioperative care, and the longitudinal inpatient management of patients with chronic multi-system illness. She is also deeply interested in integrating artificial intelligence into clinical decision-making, medical education, and optimizing workflow processes for hospitalist teams.
Dr. Barla completed her Internal Medicine residency at Ascension Saint Agnes Hospital in Baltimore, where she served as Chief Resident and was also Co-Chair of the Chief Residents Association of Baltimore (CRAB), a part of the ACP Maryland Chapter. In these roles, she directed educational programming, advocated for resident wellness, and collaborated across institutions to enhance training standards. She has delivered numerous educational conferences and lectures, including a 2024 Grand Rounds presentation titled “The Digital Doctor: Artificial Intelligence’s Evolution in Medicine.”
Her scholarly work includes research on diagnostic evaluation in acute metabolic emergencies, as well as case presentations at regional professional meetings. She remains actively involved in resident teaching, medical education, and initiatives aimed at improving the safety, efficiency, and quality of inpatient care.
