overview Prior to retiring from active practice in 2016, my major clinical and research interests involved the care of a large number of children and adolescents with the chronic inflammatory bowel diseases, ulcerative colitis and Crohn's disease. During that time, I was a Co-founder the the PediIBD Consortium which conducted many research studies relating to the pathogenesis, diagnosis, risk of comlications, treatment (including clinical trials of emerging therapies), complications (especially growth failure) and the wide range of variations in the course among children with these conditions. As a Professor Emeritus, I am studying long term outcomes in this population, describing how the prevalence in family history of IBD changes over time and, until recently, continued to collaborate in the multi-center RISK Consortium.
