The Tudor domain recognizes dimethylated ARGININE through its negatively-charged surface and occurs in many proteins that co-localize with RNA; RIBONUCLEOPROTEINS or SINGLE-STRANDED DNA complexes in the CELL NUCLEUS; MITOCHONDRIA; or KINETOCHORES.
