    Wen Wan, PhD, is a statistician in the Division of General Internal Medicine at the University of Chicago. With formal education and training in both Statistics and Medical Sciences, Dr. Wan’s research interests focus on developing and applying statistical methodologies to advance medical research. At the Chicago Center for Diabetes Translation Research, she collaborates with core investigators to provide biostatistics expertise, including study design, sample size and power calculations, development of statistical analysis plans, database construction, randomization, data management and analysis, interpretation of statistical results, and manuscript preparation. Dr. Wan has 19 years of experience in clinical studies, including extensive work in diabetes, and has authored more than 100 peer-reviewed publications. She has contributed to 25 funded grants, including 13 NIH R01-level awards, and has been involved in multiple diabetes-related clinical trials for about a decade. She received her Bachelor of Medicine from Shangdong Medical University in Jinan, China, in 1998 and her PhD in Statistics from Virginia Tech in 2007.
