    Dr. Capuano is a professor of Biostatistics in the departments of Neurology and Public Health Sciences of the University of Chicago. She is also a visiting scholar at Harvard University. She is the director of the Biostatistics Core of the SuperAging Initiative at the HAAC Center at the University of Chicago. She is the former Leader of the Rush ADRC DMS Core. Biostatistician by training, Dr. Capuano's methodological development includes metrics of resilience and proposed models for ordinal, discrete and nonlinear longitudinal data. A lot of her methodological developments are available in her R package NLIVE. For almost two decades she collaborates with scientists around the globe to answer questions that can improve the human health, specially through the understanding of healthy aging through the interplay of behavior, genetics and environmental exposures.

    Dr. Capuano serves as the elected educational chair of American Statistics Association SDSA (part of initial founding group), elected chair of the NACC Steering Committee and past elected chair of the Design and Data Analytics PIA of ISTAART. She is the founder of ARISE (Aging Research – Innovations in Statistical Exploration), housed by American Statistics Association SDSA, designed to spotlight promising students and early-career researchers working at the intersection of data science and aging.
