Overview Dr. de Jong treats children with all types of cancer and blood diseases. She is the Director of Pediatric Hematology and has specialized expertise in bone marrow failure, leukemia, autoimmune blood diseases (such as autoimmune hemolytic anemia, autoimmune neutropenia, immune thrombocytopenia purpura and Evans syndrome), hemoglobinopathies (such as thalassemia and sickle cell disease), and bleeding and clotting disorders.
Her research focuses on hematopoietic stem cells and genetic risks for hematologic malignancy. She is co-director of the Pediatric Cancer Genetic Risk clinic and the director of the Pediatric Bone Marrow Failure clinic.
Dr. de Jong also serves as the Program Director for the Pediatric Hematology-Oncology Fellowship.
