    Collapse overview
Dr. de Jong treats children with all types of cancer and blood diseases. She has specialized expertise in bone marrow failure, leukemia, autoimmune blood diseases (such as autoimmune hemolytic anemia, autoimmune neutropenia, immune thrombocytopenia purpura and Evans syndrome), hemoglobinopathies (such as thalassemia and sickle cell disease), and bleeding and clotting disorders.

Her research focuses on hematopoietic stem cells and genetic risks for hematologic malignancy. She is co-director of the Pediatric Cancer Genetic Risk clinic and the director of the Pediatric Bone Marrow Failure clinic.

Dr. de Jong has also invested her time in education, serving as the Director of Pediatric Fellowship Training for the Department of Pediatrics, as well as the Program Director for the Pediatric Hematology-Oncology Fellowship.
