    Collapse overview
Long completed his medical training in Vietnam and graduated as valedictorian position. He completed his PhD degree in Japan at Tohoku University and is currently a Pathways to Independence Instructor at the University of Chicago with a main focus in breast cancer. Long is broadly interested in how hypoxia in the tumor microenvironment reprograms tumor cells which causes therapeutic resistance and promotes metastasis. His goal now is to elucidate the role of metastasis drivers in reprogramming the tumor microenvironment and assess its therapeutic potential, particularly for patients with triple negative breast cancer. His aspiration is to pursue a tenure-track position in academia in the United States, with a particular focus on becoming a part of an advancing translational research team dedicated to cancer.

PMC Citations indicate the number of times the publication was cited by articles in PubMed Central, and the Altmetric score represents citations in news articles and social media. (Note that publications are often cited in additional ways that are not shown here.) Fields are based on how the National Library of Medicine (NLM) classifies the publication's journal and might not represent the specific topic of the publication. Translation tags are based on the publication type and the MeSH terms NLM assigns to the publication. Some publications (especially newer ones and publications not in PubMed) might not yet be assigned Field or Translation tags.) Click a Field or Translation tag to filter the publications.
